1. About these terms
These terms apply to services supplied by SkyTech PC (ABN 66 560 442 496). By approving a quote, booking a service, supplying a device or requesting work to begin, you agree to these terms.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
2. Quotes, estimates and approval
- Website prices are starting prices and may vary depending on the device, fault, labour, parts, travel, data size and complexity.
- A booking request or website form submission does not itself confirm an appointment, final price or acceptance of a job.
- Where practical, we will provide a quote or obtain approval before carrying out chargeable work beyond an agreed diagnostic or service fee.
- If additional faults or costs are discovered, we will seek approval before proceeding with material additional work.
- Quotes may be subject to parts availability and may expire after the period stated on the quote.
3. Diagnostics
Diagnostic work identifies likely causes and practical repair options but cannot guarantee that every intermittent, hidden or unrelated fault will be detected. A diagnostic fee may apply even where a device is not repaired, repair is uneconomical, parts are unavailable or the customer chooses not to proceed.
4. Customer responsibilities
You confirm that you own the device or are authorised to request work on it. You agree to:
- provide accurate information about the fault, prior repairs and relevant damage;
- back up important data before service whenever possible;
- provide required passwords, recovery keys, licences or accessories where necessary;
- remove illegal material and disclose any known safety issue, liquid damage, battery swelling or electrical fault; and
- collect the device and pay agreed charges when the work is complete.
5. Data, software and passwords
Repairs, upgrades, malware removal, operating-system work and data transfer can involve a risk of data loss, corruption or software incompatibility. We take reasonable care, but customers should maintain an independent backup before service.
Unless a backup or data-transfer service is specifically included in the approved work, SkyTech PC is not engaged to create a backup. Data recovery results cannot be guaranteed.
You are responsible for maintaining valid software licences and for changing any password shared with us once the service is complete.
6. Parts, compatibility and custom builds
- Parts and components are charged separately unless expressly included.
- We may recommend alternative parts where the requested item is unavailable or unsuitable, subject to customer approval where the change is material.
- Manufacturer warranties apply according to the relevant manufacturer's terms, in addition to rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Performance estimates for custom builds and upgrades are indicative because results depend on software, settings, workloads, temperatures and other components.
7. Remote IT support
Remote support requires a working internet connection and a device capable of running the agreed remote-access software. By starting a remote session, you authorise SkyTech PC to view or control the device only as reasonably necessary to perform the requested support.
You should remain available during the session, close unrelated sensitive material and save open work beforehand. Hardware faults, serious malware, network outages or devices that cannot start may require workshop or on-site service instead.
8. On-site services
On-site appointments may be subject to minimum charges, travel fees and reasonable access requirements. The customer must provide a safe working environment, suitable access to the device and network, and an adult contact where appropriate.
Appointment times and completion estimates are not guaranteed where delays arise from traffic, earlier jobs, access issues, parts availability or unexpected technical problems.
9. Payment
Payment is due as stated on the quote, invoice or other written agreement. Deposits or advance payment may be requested for special-order parts, custom builds or substantial work. Unless otherwise agreed, devices and supplied goods remain with SkyTech PC until amounts due for the completed work are paid.
Receipts and invoices will be provided as required by law and our normal business processes.
10. Cancellations and parts orders
Please provide reasonable notice when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment. Costs already reasonably incurred with your approval—including diagnostics, travel, non-returnable parts or special orders—may remain payable, subject to applicable law.
11. Completion, collection and uncollected devices
We will use the contact details provided to notify you when work is complete or further instructions are required. Please collect completed devices within a reasonable period.
If a device remains uncollected, we will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking further action. Any storage charge or process for uncollected goods will only be applied where clearly communicated and permitted by applicable law.
12. Service issues and warranties
Please contact us promptly if you believe supplied work or parts are defective. We will assess the concern and provide any remedy required under the Australian Consumer Law.
A service issue does not include a new or unrelated fault, misuse, accidental damage, liquid damage, malware reinfection, customer modification, third-party work, normal wear or failure of another component—unless applicable law provides otherwise.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, SkyTech PC is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for loss caused by inaccurate instructions, pre-existing faults, unsupported software, customer-supplied parts, third-party services or failure to maintain backups.
This section does not limit liability or remedies that cannot be excluded or limited under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law.
14. Website information
We aim to keep website information accurate, but service descriptions, availability and prices may change. Website content is general information and does not replace a device-specific diagnosis or confirmed quote.
15. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales and Australia. The parties submit to the courts and tribunals with jurisdiction in New South Wales, subject to any rights to bring a claim elsewhere under applicable law.
